An abstract painter, painting in York, Pa. and Frederick, Md. Creating paintings that have objects, shapes and places that help me make sense of the world through my way of painting of what I see and feel. Sometimes painting differently and using more than one medium. One who enjoys the pleasures of expressing one’s self through painting.
Painting to me is Balance, not to much, not to little, just the right proportion.Sometimes difficult to achieve .When I first gaze upon a canvas I have a general idea of what I want to show then I apply the first color or a mix of colors . I look for shapes and or proportions of the different objects that were created. Do I just want a plain background or something that stands out. Then I’m asked what is it? Then I reply what do you see. I try to point out what I see after they tell me what they saw.
Were I called on to define, very briefly, the term Art, I should call it “the reproduction of what the Senses perceive in Nature through the veil of the soul.” The mere imitation, however accurate, of what is in Nature, entitles no man to the sacred name of ‘Artist.’ Edgar Allan Poe
